Yes, you can feed 100% ripe tomatoes to guinea pigs. But tomatoes should be considered a treat rather than a primary food source for guinea pigs. Tomatoes contain oxalic acid; overfeeding tomatoes can cause health problems like cheilitis and Diarrhea.

Therefore, it’s crucial to exercise moderation when offering tomatoes to guinea pigs.

You can feed tomatoes to them two to three times a week, but only in small quantities. For example, provide them with a cherry tomato or a slice of a larger tomato. It’s important to be mindful of the ripeness of the tomatoes, as unripe ones are not safe for them.

Yes, ripe tomatoes are entirely safe for guinea pigs, including the seeds. However, never feed them tomato leaves, stems, or any other part of the tomato plant. This is because tomato plants contain small amounts of tomatine, which is toxic to both humans and guinea pigs. 

While the small amount of tomatine in tomatoes poses a little risk to big creatures like us, but it can be deadly for small guinea pigs.
